THE POWER OF TILES

The Ishtar Gate in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin

Really impressive sample of how crafts can be majestic. Very small tiles building something so pharaonic. It was a unique experience to check with my on eyes such a beautiful hand crafted work.

This are the final results of the makets that will be shown on Oh MADM.

8 match

Layers chair

Sketch from makets

This is a scratch from how the idea of this chair started. I was since the beginning the color effect that I could have with many layers of fabrics. That I may say was were it all started.

This is a rough of the 8 match pieces that can help people build any kind of furniture.
I realized that there are some numbers and some angles that always appears to build chairs, beds, tables and etc... Pure geometry and human proportion. Therefore based on it I started to develop some pieces that come together to build things.

Plasta moulds and starting to produce

Before the classes started I did some moulds, but, happened that it was not working so well because after three times use the mould started to beak. In addition, I was taking too much time to retouch each piece. Therefore, the production was definitely not efficient. In conclusion, I was needing to do better moulds with a better plaster.

The red clay was not working very well also, my kitchen was all red, my clothes, my shoes, my carpet, pretty much everything turned red.

After I bought a proper dentist plaster, witch is harder than the normal one, my set of moulds started to work properly.

I also brought a new clay, it can be firing at 1000 C, so, it wont shrink too much, probably the same as the red clay shrinks.

Best show ever

The cutiest thing that I've seen lately. Best art critic show. Nothing better than a sincerity of a child.

You can find more on youtube.
